AI Coding Tools Geelong: CodeForge 2026 Launch
Geelong's CodeForge launches AI-assisted coding platform October 2026. Local tech startups address developer shortage with Australian data compliance features.
How we reported this

Geelong software firm CodeForge Geelong will release its first AI-assisted coding platform in October 2026 after securing seed funding from the Geelong Innovation Fund.
The announcement arrives as global players push similar products and local employers face a shortage of 1200 skilled developers across the region this year. Companies need faster ways to ship code while meeting strict Australian data rules that take effect in January 2027.
CodeForge operates from a converted warehouse on Little Malop Street in the Geelong CBD and runs weekly testing sessions at the Deakin University Waurn Ponds campus. Both sites host demo days open to freelancers and students enrolled in the university’s applied computing program.
AI coding platform details
The platform will start at $29 per user per month and include offline mode for work on the Bellarine Peninsula where connectivity drops. Early trials at the Little Malop Street office cut average project time by 18 percent for three local teams building logistics apps.
Electric vehicle tie-ins
A second local outfit, Slate Geelong, plans to add custom wrap options inspired by the recent Crayola partnership announced nationally. The firm will open a pop-up colour studio on Ryrie Street in August where buyers can preview truck finishes before placing orders. Slate Geelong expects to deliver the first 50 vehicles fitted with the new wraps by December.
City data shows tech employment in Geelong grew 22 percent between 2024 and 2025, with the strongest gains in software and advanced manufacturing. The two roadmaps together could add another 85 positions by mid-2027 if hiring targets hold.
Residents can register for free preview sessions at either location through the Geelong Tech Alliance website starting next week. The sessions will run on the first Tuesday of each month through December.
