Geelong Tech Companies Roadmap 2026: New Products

Geelong tech groups confirmed this week that several product roadmaps will roll out hardware integrations and software updates starting in September 2026.

The timing lines up with broader shifts in AI chip supply chains, where new components from major suppliers are set to reach smaller developers and local integrators by the end of the third quarter. Companies here are adjusting procurement plans now because lead times for custom boards have already stretched to 14 weeks.

Local sites driving the updates

Work on these roadmaps is centred at the Geelong Innovation Hub on Moorabool Street, where engineers have booked testing benches through December. A second cluster operates from the Pakington Street co-working space run by the Geelong Digital Collective, which hosts weekly sessions on embedding new processors into edge devices. Both locations have added extra power capacity this month to handle prototype runs.

One project at the Moorabool Street site focuses on low-power inference boards priced at $1,850 per unit for early adopters. Another effort at Pakington Street targets fraud-detection modules for fintech apps, drawing on settlement data from similar platforms that paid out $45 million across 46 states earlier this year.

Numbers behind the schedule

Local venture tallies show $3.2 million committed to these roadmap items since April, according to records filed with the City of Greater Geelong economic development office. That figure covers 11 separate prototypes, with six scheduled for public beta release before the end of 2026. Attendance at the June roadmap briefing at the Waterfront Campus reached 87 participants, up from 62 the previous quarter.

Teams plan to publish revised timelines on the hub website by 22 July. Interested developers can register for the next open session at the Pakington Street venue on 16 August to review component samples and integration guides.
