Where to Stay in Geelong: Accommodation Guide for Visitors

Geelong's accommodation is spread across the CBD waterfront, the inner suburban precincts and the broader Bellarine Peninsula and Surf Coast. The Mercure Geelong on Gheringhap Street and the Ibis Styles Geelong are the main full-service options in the CBD, both close to the waterfront and cultural precinct. The Geelong Waterfront has serviced apartments and boutique hotels with bay views. Newtown's heritage streets have a small number of boutique guesthouse options in Victorian and Edwardian homes. The Bellarine Peninsula townships of Ocean Grove, Barwon Heads and Queenscliff have holiday accommodation ranging from resort properties to vacation rental houses popular for family beach stays. Torquay and Jan Juc on the Surf Coast are 20 minutes south and have accommodation popular with the surfing and cycling visitor market. Daylesford, 60 minutes north via Ballarat, is a natural overnight pairing with Geelong for arts and spa visitors. Booking ahead for the Bellarine and Surf Coast summer holiday period (December-January) is essential.
