Eastern Beach bollards deserve better lighting

The repainted bollards at Eastern Beach are a local treasure, but after dusk they vanish into the dark.

A modest run of low-level path lighting would let families enjoy the foreshore well into the evening, without the heritage feeling floodlit.

Your reporting on commuter patterns missed the obvious: the 50 leaves Marshall ten minutes before the morning train arrives.

I welcome the council's commitment to keep the river edge public. The detail still missing is access for older residents who cannot manage the steep ramp from Fyans Street.

A switchback path was promised in the 2019 master plan. It would be a shame to lose it now.
